The CIRSEE is SUEZ’s main competences center. It plays a leading role in the coordination of the Group’s international technical and scientific network. Its mission is to identify and develop the scientific, technical and technological skills necessary to underpin the operational excellence of our performance and develop new services for our customers.
Located on the Bordeaux University campus since 2011, the Le Lyre center initiates, supports and coordinates research projects involving universities, businesses and public or private institutions.
As the interface between a major organization and local players, the Le Lyre center connects the operatives in the water sector to the researchers and identifies the right partners to propose innovative solutions to solve local issues and to provide answers to the questions raised by operators and local government. The Le Lyre center is organized into four fields of research and expertise: Network / Environment / Players and users / Data. This multidisciplinarity approach, is in the very genes of Le Lyre, enables the center to offer concrete solutions to its customers.
Cetaqua integrates, manages and executes research projects with the aim of proposing innovative solutions to companies and governments. For the complete water cycle to adapt the infrastructures to climate change and to be sensitive to the socio-economic aspects of water.

The Haasrode Technology Center of Excellence provides advanced analytical, engineering and application services to our customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
State-of-the-art analytical instruments allow the analytical laboratory to process samples from cooling, boiler, wastewater, hydrocarbon and chemical treatment applications. Analysis methods for more than 300 different parameters are available.
The multidisciplinary technology team has extensive expertise in analytical chemistry, microbiology, metallurgy and chemical engineering sciences. It conducts root cause analyses in close collaboration with various stakeholders.
SUEZ WERCs, our knowledge center based in New York City (USA) tests water treatment for both municipal and industrial clients. SUEZ North America & Environmental Research Centers (SUEZ WERCs) is the result of scientific collaboration between SUEZ North America and DENARD, our Treatment Solutions R&D center in the USA. This organization’s mission is to develop innovative solutions to technical problems and create new business opportunities within the water cycle.
SUEZ WERCs unites innovation efforts in the following areas: drinking water supplies, treatment of drinking water and wastewater, sustainable development (production of biogas) and smart metering.
The Guelph Technical Center focuses its their R&D efforts in the areas of ultra-pure water electrodeionization, Electrodialysis on matrices such as food and beverages, and Reverse Electrodialysis for wastewater.
Woodlands, TX Technology Center houses our NAM Customer Analytical Services Laboratory (CASL) and our global hydrocarbon and chemical process research and development laboratories.
The laboratory is qualified in chemistry, metallurgical evaluation, research and development and engineering, providing a multi-faceted service highly applicable to problem solving, R&D and routine analytical services.
Research efforts include the development of new chemical and technical solutions for refining applications such as hydrocarbon processing, anti-fouling chemical processing, corrosion inhibitors, emulsion breakers, finished product additives and H2S traps.
The Oakville technical center is a specialist in Ultra-Filtration membranes (submerged and pressurized) for wastewater treatment.
The center focuses their R&D efforts on the development of filters and cartridges, reverse osmosis membranes and nanofiltration.
The laboratory conducts research in the following areas: water, deposits, microbiology and membranes.
The site has several laboratories to study corrosion, molecular structure, deposit formation and control, biofilms, particle size and characterization, membrane cleaning, flotation, separation and contact angles.
Located in Shanghai, our network of research centrecenters specializes in various fields, such as wastewater, industrial water and waste treatment.The SWRc (Shanghai Water Research Center), based in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP), is dedicated to the research and development of innovative solutions to treat wastewater generated by the petrochemical industry.
The Waste R&D center is the specialist in waste treatment, the China Technology Center (CTC) is an expert in industrial water treatment, particularly in the petrochemical and coal industries, and the Innovative Water Treatment Solutions, which opened in August 2018, specializes in water treatment.
All of these centers work with local partners such as the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, Tongji University and the Eastern China University of Technology. They are exploring new areas of sustainable development by organizing, among other things, research on wastewater reuse, sludge transformation and energy recovery.
The Singapore Water Technology Center conducts research in the development of new solutions for waste recovery, energy neutrality and ultra-pure water applications.
