With the full potential of digital technologies and innovative solutions, the Group treats over 45 million tons of waste a year, produces 4.4 million tons of secondary raw materials and 7.7 TWh of local renewable energy. It also secures water resources, delivering wastewater treatment services to 66 million people and reusing 1.1 billion m3 of wastewater.



NWS Holdings, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, is the infrastructure and service flagship of New World Development Company Limited.


NWS Holdings has a diverse businesses and investments predominantly in Hong Kong and Mainland China, comprising toll roads, environmental management, port and logistics facilities, rail container terminals, commercial aircraft leasing, facilities management, healthcare services, construction and public transport.


Key milestones

One of the first foreign companies to enter into the Chinese market, SUEZ has been in China for over 40 years. It has partnered with NWS Holdings for more than 30 of those.


After decades of development, SUEZ NWS has become a favored partner for cities and industries looking to develop innovative solutions, for coping with climate change and progressing sustainable resource management practices.

1975 SUEZ subsidiary Degrémont enters the China market.

1985 The partnership between SUEZ and NWS Holdings begins with the establishment of Macao Water, the first water concession contract in Asia.

1987 SUEZ subsidiary SITA Waste Services starts Hong Kong waste business.

1992 Sino French Water is established, dedicated to Mainland China's water industry.

2000 First waste-to-energy project in Taiwan begins operation.

2002 Start of 50-year Chongqing water concession.

2003 First Mainland China hazardous waste project installed in Shanghai.

2017 SUEZ and NWS Holdings expand their partnership to all SUEZ businesses in Greater China, under single brand: SUEZ NWS Limited.

2019 Acquires Environmental Testing Laboratory Business of ALS in China, marking its first foray into China’s environmental quality monitoring market
