SUEZ NWS was established in 2017 when the long-term partnership between SUEZ and NWS Holdings Limited was extended to cover all SUEZ's business segments in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

SUEZ provides innovative and resilient solutions in water management, waste recovery, site remediation and air treatment, optimizing municipalities’ and industries’ resource management through “smart” cities and improving their environmental and economic performance. The Group delivers sanitation services to 64 million people and produces 7.1 billion m3 of drinking water. SUEZ is also a contributor to economic growth, with more than 200,000 jobs created directly and indirectly on an annual basis, and a provider of new resources, with 4.2 million tons of secondary raw materials produced. By 2030, the Group is targeting 100% sustainable solutions, with a positive impact on our environment, health and climate. SUEZ generated total revenue of €18.0 billion in 2019.



NWS Holdings Limited (Hong Kong Stock Code: 659), as the diversified industries flagship of New World Development Company Limited (Hong Kong Stock Code: 17), invests and operates a wide range of businesses predominantly in Hong Kong and across Greater China. The Group’s core businesses include toll roads, commercial aircraft leasing, construction and insurance, while it also manages a strategic portfolio spanning sectors from environment, logistics, facilities management to transport.


Corporation milestones
SUEZ NWS was one of the first foreign enterprises to invest in China. Our presence in China for more than 40 years makes SUEZ NWS a preferred partner in helping authorities and industrial clients develop innovative solutions for climate change and sustainable resource management.
1975 SUEZ NWS Treatment Infrastructure (formerly named as “Degrémont) enters China market.

1985 The partnership between SUEZ and NWS Holdings begins with the establishment of Macao Water, the first water concession contract in Asia.

1987 SUEZ NWS Recycling and Recovery (formerly named as “SITA Waste Services”) starts its business in Hong Kong.

1992 Establishment of SUEZ NWS Water Operations (formerly named as “Sino French Water”), dedicated to Mainland China’s water industry.

2000 First waste-to-energy project in Taiwan begins operations.

2002 Start of the 50-year Chongqing Water concession.

2003 Launch of the first hazardous waste project in Mainland China located in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park.

2017 SUEZ and NWS Holdings expand their partnership to all SUEZ businesses in Greater China, under one single brand and name: SUEZ NWS Limited.

2019 Acquires Environmental Testing Laboratory Business of ALS in China, marking its first foray into China’s environmental quality monitoring market.
